Everyone needs the latest and greatest in drawing technology, but there is something to be said for a good simple drawing tablet. In this article, we've presented five reasons why a simple drawing tablet might be the smartest option for you.
The first is the first. By now, it's probably safe to say
that most of us spend a lot more time in front of our mobile devices - in this
case, tablets. Whether we use it for entertainment purposes such as reading
e-books and broadcasting TV shows, or for professional purposes such as
illustration and animation, these displays expose us to blue light. In fact, it
tires our eyes and negatively affects our sleep patterns. This is where blue
light glasses come into play.
A small disclaimer, we assume that you enjoy drawing on
your tablet screen. You take a pen, put it down and see exactly where this mark
is made on the canvas. It's really intuitive, but at the end of the day, you
are constantly exposed to blue light. What we're trying to say is that we
strongly encourage you to take this seriously and regularly adjust how blue
light affects you (both physically and mentally).
With that in mind, let's take a look at five reasons why
we believe a simple drawing tablet might be the best option for your creative
career.
Reason # 1: ergonomics
Since you are drawing on the screen, you will probably
get it at a nice comfortable angle on your desk and then look down at it. And
if you work like this all day, every day, over time, it will hurt you. Chances
are you'll pay the price from neck to back.
Unfortunately, these devices contribute to poor posture,
so getting up and stretching every two hours or so is likely to be good advice
for digital artists. This also applies to anyone working in a normal office
environment. One solution is to set a timer every hour so you get up, stretch

cover most, if not all, of your digital illustration needs without breaking
your money. In most cases, it all comes down to exploring, comparing and
contrasting your choices.
Reason # 3: Portability
Number three on the list is portability. The basic
drawing tablet will fit in your everyday bag, so you can easily take them with
you wherever you go. Now that I think about it, even one of the larger tablets
fits quite easily into a laptop bag.
They are designed to be fairly lightweight these days,
especially new ones. It's also important to note that some of the newer tablets
are already equipped with Bluetooth, which eliminates the need for cables when
traveling.
Yes, you still have to take your laptop with you if you
work remotely, so it may not be completely portable. In the end, however, it
cannot be denied that the basic drawing tablet is more compact than its
sleeker, higher-end counterparts.
Reason 4: reliability
Reason number four is reliability. Either due to wear and
tear, an accident or something else, a breakdown of the electronics.

hardware and software. In retrospect, a new modern drawing tablet will not
improve your art. When it comes down to it, the only thing that separates you
from greatness is the amount of time and effort you put in.
